the room was pretty much spot on, clean and quite spacious. the bed was comfy, despite being 2 singles pushed together. the staff were friendly and helpful, really nice people. its a cozy little pub, loved the vibe. wedding music was loud but it stopped at a decent time.

During our recent stay, we loved how close we were to Upton Country Park, which made for a lovely stroll right before breakfast. plus, the staff were super welcoming and our spacious room was perfect after a long drive through Scotland.

A wedding was taking place during our stay, leading to loud music that ended around 11pm, which was a minor inconvenience. For the £75 paid, expectations were higher considering the disarray in common areas.

It was just a good pick for a quick layover in Pontefract with good value. The steak meal for two was excellent and very affordable at just £25. Make sure to check the menu for daily specials.
